Mission Statement
The University of Montana Flute Choir boasts 20 members. This prestigious ensemble
was started 23 years ago by UM Flute Professor
Margaret Lund Schuberg upon her hiring at the UM. The group has performed in
the Northwest region at the All Northwest Music
Educator's Convention in Spokane, and State-wide in Dillon, Kalispell, Helena
at the Capital Rotunda, and at several other cities. THe UM
Flute Choir performs locally at public schools, medical and aging service centers
and on the uM Campus several times a semester.
The University of Montana Flue Choir consists
of 2 piccolos, 12 C flutes, 3 alto flutes and 3 bass flutes. The bass flutes
were acquired due
to
a generous donation from Jill Bradford, a former member of the UM FLute Choir
and graduate of the UM, and her partner, Henry Tillman, in
2007. The outstanding bass and alto section contribute heavily to its reputation
as the region's premiere flute ensemble. |
